I'm rooting for Eight Belle - who would you put a c-note on?

ETA: Well, that's the last damned time I'm rooting for anyone.

Z Fortune is gorgeous, but I'm picking Adriano. I will always cheer for Edgar Prado.

#6 because that's my love's username. (Big fan of The Prisoner.)

I have an odd way of betting. I rarely do it. However, I go based on a quirk that appeals to me. And when I go with my whim, I tend to win.

Dude, Eight Belles was my girl and she got second and then DIED on the track! She broke both front ankles and they put her down! I can't stop crying. :(

This is last year all over again. I watched two races last year where horses have to be euthanized on the track or after the race. I used to train horses and it absolutely breaks my heart. I think I'm done watching races.

I get too emotionally involved - it's why I don't think I'll ever be able to own a horse or ride just one exclusively. It destroys me when anything bad happens. :(

Oh, bloody hell, that's just awful.

I'm with you - let's go be miserable together.

Well, SHIT.

I'm starting to think twice about all the propaganda PETA and others of that ilk scream about the horses being mistreated.

She was DONE. She was simply galloping. What the hell?

Of course they were! It was just such a shock to watch it and....

Oh, the poor horse. So sad.

That was so sad, to come in second and then seconds later be down. She was a pretty horse. At least they didn't get it on tape or we'd be seeing over and over like they did with Barbaro.

The good news is I picked Eight Belles to finish second in my pool. I was the only one to correctly pick any horse.

The bad news is...sheesh. I quit watching horse racing 20 years ago for this reason and I think I'll have to stop again.
