Gmail Issues
Nov. 7th, 2007 07:45 amIt seems that a combination of a change to gmail and a new version of Firefox are making gmail, well, not work in Firefox today - and non-Firefox users are having issues too.
Luckily,
affectingly noticed a tiny link at the top of the gmail page to allow you to use the "older version" - I clicked on it, and everything works perfectly, squee.
Also, remember how I mentioned giving up the sidekick for the Sprint Mogul? It's not working as well as I'd hoped, so the full switch may not be happening. If only I had a way to back up my email on a sidekick, I would keep it forever....
Sigh.

Date: 2007-11-07 02:42 pm (UTC)You'll know if you check your contact page and it looks different. http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2007/10/code-changes-to-prepare-gmail-for.html
And of course I can't find the original article that actually has screencaps showing the differences.

Date: 2007-11-07 06:04 pm (UTC)As to cell phones, other than the annoying on/off button not causing the backlight to *consistently* fully activate, I'm happy with my PPC6700 (AKA the Brick)--you also have to do some tweaking to conserve power. The Mogul is the PPC6800 but I like how the 6700 allows me to do more 'unauthorized' things like 'Phone As Modem' without Sprint being able to track data usage as carefully... but don't abuse this too much or Sprint will notice. With Sprint SERO's unlimited data plan, PAM comes in handy to access private data lines versus those sometimes *slow* public wifi connection. Some folk like the older phone because it has more hacks but it's definitely not as 'sleek' as newer phones.
For email, I just use Gmail because it also has a mobile version.
