This is the second of these evil spammer journals I've heard about. I was thinking it might be an idea to set up a post where people can report these journals and get a list of names it would be a good idea to ban if you don't want spoilers. Hopefully all of these journals are getting reported to LJ abuse and will be summarily suspended by the abuse team, but that takes time, and in the meantime it might be helpful for people to know who they should be banning. No idea where to post it, though, where lots of people would see it and get linked to it.

By "all of these journals" I mean those that are spamming people with spoilers, of course, not all journals where spoilers have been posted, because the majority of people are being considerate and making sure there are huge warnings and cuts. But spamming people with spoilers they don't want, even if those spoilers turn out to be fake, is just not. On.

Sad to say, but it's people like this that finally convinced me to spoil myself -- I'm going to the midnight event at Harvard Square, and inevitably, someone'll be an asshole and yell out intarweb rumors. At least if I seek them out myself, I'll be prepared. :/

That said, if anyone accidentally read the userinfo for wasteofpages or any of that user's comments, don't be too scared -- debunkings for those particular spoilers, especially the "epilogue" that's been posted, abound in spoiler comms and boards. Chances are good that you might not have been spoiled after all. :)

I've spoiled myself (the purpose: if someone runs by and yells out a spoiler at the event I'll be attending, I won't be caught unawares and instead of suffering from depressed shock, I can chase down said asshole and introduce him to my shoe, Mr. Spiky), and the particular spoilers wasteofpages has posted aren't anything too new. No one can find a real source for most of it, and the "epilogue" has been pretty solidly debunked (someone showed how easily the page text could be faked). You might be okay. :)

Thank you! I was just about to look for the faq and see how to ban him. I get all emails sent to me, but fortunately I knew to be aware of comments from non-friends, so I managed to only read the word "Death" before I realized I didn't want to read on and hit delete. So am still unspoiled - phew!

But why, oh, why are people so cruel? How can they find it in any way 'rewarding' to ruin the fun of complete strangers? It makes me so PISSED!
