Rewatching Heroes
May. 25th, 2007 09:40 pmI know there's been discussion of when Nathan decided he'd be there to help Peter if Peter needed him, and I just rewatched the bit in the garage where Peter reads Nathan's mind.
Nathan thinks, "We're all going to die..."
Not they're all going to die which would be the logical thing to think if you're getting out in a helicopter before Boom-time because then, you wouldn't be part of the we.
Nathan probably already planned to be there with Peter, even in that moment when he was trying to get Claire out, not because he was going to flee himself, but because he already had decided that he wasn't.

I keep wondering if I'm a Nathan apologist, but to me he was thinking that there was *nothing* that could stop the bomb and he could either come back and help with the aftermath (and he's got an over-sized sense of responsibility so this would have seemed like the 'right' thing for him to do) or he could stay and die with everyone else.
But the whole thing with him showing up at the end - I felt like he'd known this was a possibility for a while. I guess he just didn't think it would work...?
