[livejournal.com profile] jlh and I just walked out of an astronomically amazing Crowded House concert.

I've seen Crowded House live. Finally and for the first time.

The opening act - a Kiwi named Doug McGlashan - wasn't the best songwriter but he played a lovely euphonium and later on gave nifty musical support for the band.

There was a second opening act - the choir from PS22 performed on their own, then did Throw Your Arms Around Me and Private Universe with the band - Neil introduced them an dthey were adorable and I hope someone has photos or even a few seconds of audio of them as they were just terrific.

It segued perfectly into CH I and within their set, they did four songs from their upcoming album - and when No Way To Go But Forward actually comes out, I will vid to it because yet again, it's a perfect SPN song.

Among other songs, they did Locked Out, Mean To Me, Something So Strong, Fingers of Love, Don't Dream It's Over, Weather With You, She Goes On and - with Matthais the Fan, they did Better Be Home Soon.

I couldn't have wished for better songs.

I couldn't have dreamed of a better concert.

But now I've been up for nearly 20 hours and it's Supernatural Day and I need to get up in a few hours to pick up pie (and perhaps get a manicure) so I'll just hope everyone had as lovely a night as [livejournal.com profile] jlh and I did.

Well, other than the very tall woman behind me who kept clipping the back of my head with her elbow.

(Oh! And CryBaby was adorable! Longer review of that, tomorrow.)

ETA: More reviews and a set list are up here.

I think I spent 2/3 of the last month vidding and 1/3 traveling (EyeCon, family trip, NYC). In other words, I posted a lot of vids - and a fic! - last month - and I'm including March posts in this wrap-up, too; because of the traveling I never posted a March wrap-up.

Divided by fandom, we have:

Supernatural

The High-Powered, Revved-Up Body Machine - a Supernatural/Dark Angel vid set to the Schoolhouse Rock song. You don't need to know any of the plot for DA - it's only visual spoilers featuring Jensen Ackles.

Welcome to the Black Parade, set to the My Chemical Romance song. Dean-centric.

La Vida Loca, the vid that inspired me to ask for the Intro Vidding Challenge in [livejournal.com profile] spn_gleeweek. It's basically my attempt at imagining what the S3 Finale's Intro would look and sound like if set to La Vida Loca. And I make the Winchesters dance.

Badlands (Live Every Day) - my more serious take on an SPN S3 Finale Intro Vid, set to the Springsteen song. Angst ahoy!

XanaDON'T - the song truly tells the story of the Morton House (spoilers for Ghostfacers).

Lord of the Rings

The Fellowship - created for [livejournal.com profile] eldritchhobbit as part of Sweet Charity; it focuses on the Fellowship of the Ring - both the group, and the movie.

Cannot Cope, Off to Unpack Adjectives - another Schoolhouse Rock vid, created in tandem with The Fellowship. I realised just how much the Balarog reminded me of a scary bear, and I ran with it from there!

Ocean's 11

Seize The Day, an Oceans 11 vid set to the song from Newsies. Danny & his friends don't want that mean Mister Benedict to take their rights away!

Heroes
The Hero Is Me - focusing on Kensei/Adam and Hiro. Basically, two vids in one, set to the Motion City SOundtrack song "Capital H".

Tripping on the Phone (not yet posted to LJ, but created as part of the LVMS challenge in the Heroes fandom).

Harry Potter
War, What Is It Good For?, my remix of [livejournal.com profile] lolaraincoat's drabble for [livejournal.com profile] remixredux08. Bill Weasley has to deal with the looting in Iraq, circa 2003.

Wow. Five fandoms. That's definitely a record for me!

Also, sign-ups for [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen 2008 have started! Give your prompts for the next two weeks - assignments will be handed out after that, and fics will be posted throughout the month of July - just as you're recovering from all the amazing SPN Big Bang fic postings!
