As I'm someone who perfers to point to original sources rather than try and sum up what someone else thinks, I'm not going to expound here on what Michela Ecks (aka Laura Hale) - who is one of the administrators (she's called herself the visionary) for fandomination has said in the past about HP, about slash and about HP slashers.

Instead, I'll just give you these two urls:

http://www.engl.niu.edu:88/~writersu/read?110998,4006
copied here )

And then read this one:
http://www.voy.com/36422/128.html

And then decide if you're comfortable giving her hosting power over your fics.

Note: I wasn't going to post this. I don't want to seem like I'm still imbibing sour grapes over something that happened a long time ago (in fandom years) and it's certainly possible that people can change their views on things (at one point, I didn't think Draco was redeemable!) - but when I was Y!Ming with [livejournal.com profile] nmalfoy this morning, she said that this information needs to be known, because everyone needs to be able to make an educated decision. As she said... "so they'll know."

So now, you do. And I leave the decision about what to do with your fics up to you.

I've made this a limited-friends-only post (limited versus all because I have a lot of people on my friends list from outside the HP fandom, and I didn't want to spam their LJs with this) so it doesn't get misconstrued - but the urls link to public pages - and you should feel free to disperse them however you wish.

Edited to add: someone asked me in a private conversation about the relevance of these posts to the HP fandom - and pretty simply, it's because she's plugging fandomination as the site for hosting of NC-17 material, but I've hardly seen her attitudes about some of the fics that people might want to host mentioned at all. Now, why is her attitude relevant, you might ask. It's because the Terms of Use for that site say that they can remove any story if they don't think it's a good story, or up to their quality standards (they won't host songfics, as a general rule, for example).

Their site is down while they ramp up, which means their ToU is down too - perhaps they'll revise it or make their standards more concrete or comprehensible - but for now, I really think that anyone considering fandomination as an archive for their stories ought to have a fuller picture of the site's admins perspectives on these fics.
