Good going, Star Wars fandom!

Excellent article in the June issue of Yahoo! Internet Life - it not only profiles the various Star Wars discussion boards and highlights some McSweeney's humor, it also is illustrated by fan art and features small sections from various fanfics. And it doesn't make any of the authors or artists seem weird (how could it, when Lucas himself has given (at least a slightly controlled bit of) acknowledgement to the fan filmers via the Official Fan Film Awards). It's a wonderful article, and I really hope they look at the HP fandom as well (and I mean "well" in the sense of "with consideration and insight", not "in addition...") when *our* second movie of this series comes out in the fall.

And one last note, to those in other fandoms who criticise HP fanfic for being a "book fandom" and say that writing fanfic for a printed work is just asking for trouble, or is inapropriate because you shouldn't work in the same medium as the "work" you're being a fan for... :P
