I am laughing SO hard and I don't know if it's because

1) it's genuinely that funny
2) I'm a little drunk
3) I'm slightly hysterical

Oh, yes. I think I would have gone insane if I had to watch another straight hour of network election coverage.

I'm watching Jon Stewart, and this sounds like a good idea!

*Goes to get beer.* Perhaps the Gnomes of Zurich will join me!

Oh gosh, Al Sharpton is a gift to comedy news! So is William Weld for that matter. "Gnomes of Zurich?" Did he really say that?

It helps, particularly the ending. Seriously, I want to weep here. I want to leave Ohio and huddle in one of the blue states. This is just...I really thought Kerry had a chance.

It's knowing that I have to face my aunt and uncle, both rabidly pro-Bush, both who think that homosexuality is an abomination. Ohio will get their stupid marriage amendment and I can't do a damned thing about it. And the next time I see them, they will smirk and there is nothing I will be able to say without looking childish and stupid.

This is so very, very disappointing.

Oh, God. YES. He totally relieved tension when it came to this election. Too bad it didn't last longer.

But now it's back to regular network coverage. :x
Their continual reporting makes me more nervous than I already am.

I don't have it either. No cable at all. I get two networks, pbs and a local fox affiliate. I never should have left Florida.

My thought: For the 2008 election...instead of spending $3 billion to get elected...pay Democrats in CA, NY, IL, PA to move to FL, maybe OH (it's still too close to call), AZ, NV, CO... :-)

Yes, I do think that the hurricanes and Jeb Bush's response to it hurt Kerry in Florida. Unfortunately, GWB is no Jeb.

Finally, I am embarassed that fear (of terrorists - even though NY has the most to fear went overwhelming for Kerry) and bigotry (yes, I understand, but religious intolerance is why we're fighting against Islamic Fundamentalists and religous bigotry is still bigotry - i.e. the social conservative turnout thinking they can deny another American's Civil Right's and we allowing it) has decided a Presidential Election. I don't see George being the type of individual who can heal this.

Actually, I was thinking leaving Florida and moving back to Illinois (where I was born) might be a good idea. {g}

A word of advice, don't. I did that and I think I was better off where I was. Just a general thing that I think I was happier there. But that's me.

I visited Chicago again back in... 2002? I liked it there because it helped overcome some of my current handicaps in transportation... and I actually went somewhere other than work, supply shopping, and home.

YMMV, indeed.

Plus, even though I lose feeling in my fingers and toes in the cold, my skin's complexion does better in the dry air because I have oily skin and Florida's heat and humidity doesn't help. Not having to worry about powdering your face every half hour (save money on make-up) or washing your face 5-6 times a day (or else I start resembling Tom Felton's face =:-o ) is an added bonus. :-) Fourteen years of going through 'puberty' is getting a tad bit... old for me.

I *totally* sympathize with Snape's 'greasy git' status when you spend 1/5 of your day wondering if you look like an Exxon disaster.

Odd Electronic Voting

I voted but there was this one odd thing... I pressed the option for Kerry and Bush was selected. I had to keep on pressing the Kerry option for it to be electronically selected, which none of the other choices did that.

I thought... okay, whatever, my final listing showed Kerry anyway.

Then I watched the news and someone else in a nearby city reported the same problem.

I watched Jon's show and didn't watch any more election coverage because I knew in my gut it was over. I knew my daughter would call me first thing in the morning either way. He is still so funny, even when he is obviously as devastated as the rest of us.
