3. My love for Cuaron knows no bounds and not just because he told my Harry that he looks just like Harry Potter and has the same colour eyes as Daniel.
It's also because he didn't suck, and, in fact, made an amazing movie filled with subtext.
4. I love the cast. And got to tell Jamie Phelps that everyone would be thrilled to see the Twins actually getting some good bits in this one.

I read your review, and mer, I dunno. I think that some of the things I've seen people mentioning are with merit, but others - I caught Lupin calling Sirius "Padfoot" and in the bit where he's trying to forestall the change, he calls him "moony" and they both did call Peter "wormtail" at one point. Prongs - well, no mention directly, but it's an obvious conjecture, even to someone who hasn't read the book. My son picked up on it well enough, although he did think that Wormtail, not Voldemort, killed the Potters. But, you know, he's not yet five. And I do think that Harry just glowed to Sirius re the house, and Sirius did react to it, quite nicely. But I think that everyone brings their own thoughts to this, and it's possible to not agree that it was obvious enough.

I think - and I've put this into my longer review for TLC - that we're so used to Columbus making everything So! Totally! Unsubtle! that we're not used to a situation where things aren't broadly introduced or explained, and it took a while to get into that rhythm with the film. But then again, I was shaking all through the Shrieking Shack scene...

In the scenes where you can see the facial caterpillar, I sighed and bore with it. I think I get why they did it, but I still am not one of its fans.
