We get small flies here at night. If we leave any windows open, they'll fly through and cluster around any source of light or water. Needless to say, this is incredibly fustrating, as I can't open my dorm window in the daytime, because we have an absurd amount of pollen floating around, and we can't open the windows at night, unless we want to wake up with clusters of flies in random places in our rooms.
I can't wait to go home to CA, where I have air conditioning.
I once walked in on all these flying ants in the middle of the night and watched them for a while before I realized they were termites on the move. That was a long week. Would you like the very large lizard that has moved into our neighborhood to come and eat your ants?
