She's managed to catch the flu that the boys & I had last week.

What does this mean for me?

It means we can't go to LOTR Trilogy Tuesday tomorrow, as we have nobody to watch the boys :(

So I've put our tickets up for sale at ebay.

Feel free to pimp the link to anyone who you think is interested. I'll hand-deliver the tickets myself to the theater.

[livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi, [livejournal.com profile] tabithajones, gals - please call me or text me with your phone # so I can call you re: getting you the tickets. If you want, I'll be perfectly happy to be at the theater tomorrow around 10:30ish and bring them to you there, or, [livejournal.com profile] tabithajones, if you want to swing by my house tonight on your way home, that would be fine too - I'm leaving your two tickets by the banquette.

I am so miserable about this, but I'm really only delaying my seeing it by about 12 hours - Aaron and I are going to the 10:40 showing on Wednesday together, and I'll be fine.

sob.

I can't see it until the 21st, at the soonest. I have no pity.

This may sound horrid, but... I've planned from the first to leave Mr. PH at home while I go to the movie. Mostly because his Mom wants to see it with us, and she's coming up for the holidays, so they can go and see it together while I watch Meg.

Wah. I won't see it for a while, either, because I have to see it with my dad and his work schedule is, as always, busy.

Le wah! :-( I hope your mom gets well very soon.

*starts planning three-in-a-row using all three Extended Editions in excellent company already*

*realises we will then watch all the Extras, commentary tracks and so forth: estimated duration, 3¾ days*

I'm so sorry! I would have come down and baby sat for you since I know how much you were looking forward to going to this and I never did get tickets (and I can't afford them off of ebay now so close to Christmas!) I guess all I can say is enjoy the show with your husband and I hope your mother is feeling better soon. Since we aren't going to the trilogy, I won't be seeing ROTK until Christmas Eve because that's what we've done over the last few years... gone to see a LOTR movie with the kiddo on Christmas Eve. -- Jori

We're out $70 if we can't unload the tickets. That's part of the problem - if we'd known even a day earlier, we might've been able to sell them or give them away worthily at Aaron's firm party Saturday night. But 29 hours notice? We're having a problem *giving* them away.

If this were next year, I'd just bring Harry with us; he's good enough at staying up late, but I'm concerned that it'll be too much for him, at 4, whereas Harry at 5 and a half would be completely fine with it, I'm sure.

See, given that I was at 104.5 ten days ago, I'm hearing her be all "wah, I am at 99.5 degrees! I am sick!" and I'm feeling a bit, "yeah? Hardly!"

I wish I could be more sympathetic; I know it feels terrible to feel Less Than Good, but I have a bit of a "been there, done that, got the leftover cough drops" in me now.

Damien got a bit antsy last year when he was six but we kept feeding him theater food so that made him happy. This year, we have to go to church first for some kid thing so it will be even later and he'll be even antsier! Come to think of it, maybe we'll just go another day. We decided not to do the trilogy with him because we figured it would cost us another $100 in theater type food just to keep him quiet for that many hours. :)

You have been LJ-commented, text-messaged, voice-mailed.... If I haven't reached you yet, I don't know what to do!

I fed your eBay to two of my co-workers who were ready to assault me when they found out about Trilogy Tuesday... last Wednesday... and accused me of holding out. I was able to protest quite truthfully that I had no ticket, and that they'd all sold out. [/halo]

Hiya. Dropped by from [livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi's.

I'm sorry to hear about your mum. Truly that sucks on many, many levels.

I'm feeling compelled to add you, though, so the night's not a complete waste. :)

Hope your mom is feeling better soon.

Sorry you can't see the trilogy, I know how much you were looking forward to it. We have two theatres here showing it, but there was never any hope that my theatre would have given me the day off. My whining about RotK is solely about Nyssa and Andy making me *pay* to see it, as they won't wait until after Christmas when I can see it for free. Mind you, I'm not complaining *that* much and have happily forked over my money for tickets.
