What times does everyone's Trilogy Tuesday start on Tuesday?

Ours srarts ar 1pm, so I think it's reasonable to assume we'll be home by midnight.

And [livejournal.com profile] sff_corgi and [livejournal.com profile] tabithajones, we need to talk coordination, tickets, etc. I'm off to pick up the tickets today...

There is no real Trilogy Tuesday in Germany, as far as I know. I have tickets for a trilogy showing, but it's the theatrical versions of FotR and TTT and they are not allowed to show RotK before 0:01 am on Wednesday. -.-
So my showing starts at 5pm. Which, due to timezones, means I'm still going to see RotK about an hour earlier than you :p *is unreasonably smug about this*

Yay that you'll get to go to Tuesday Trilogy too, but I think that planning to be home at midnight is a tad ambitious...

These are the running times for the movies:
FOTR at 3 hours 29 minutes, TT at 3 hours 45 minutes and the unofficial time for ROTK is 3 hours 20 minutes.

Even disregarding breaks in between the features and preview time, that puts you at around 1:00 a.m. *shrug* These are honking-long movies.

RotK starts at 11:00 or so. You will NOT be home before midnight, dearie. :)

Mine starts at 1pm, as most do I think. But as someone's already mentioned, RotK doesn't begin anywhere before 11pm. There's up to an hour's break scheduled between movies, depending on the particular cinema chain showing your set.

Ours starts at 2:15 pm.

And I hate to be the voice of dissention, but I always assumed that they would show the extended versions of the first two (with probably 30 min breaks between and all to sell candy and cokes) culminating in the MIDNIGHT showing of RotK. I don't think it can be shown before 12:01 am on Dec 17th. Wah. That puts you leaving the theater at around 3:30-4:00 am.

Hi! Random Person dropping in! :)

The one I'm going to starts at 1 PM and we've been told that ROTK will start at 10 PM. One break lasting 30 minutes and the 2nd one being an hour long. It doesn't quite compute, considering the actual length of the movies (I think this plan would actually give us an extra 20 minutes somewhere) but that's the latest word for my theater. There's also the probability that they'll be tacking trailers onto all of them which would probably count for those "extra 20 minutes" anyway.

I'm keeping in mind that they've changed the plans a couple times already so we'll see. The only thing that hasn't changed is the 10 PM start time for ROTK. That's been consistent. And even that early, it's going to be well past midnight when it's all over.

In the end, I think it will probably depend on the individual theaters. Is there a line party (http://www.theonering.net/movie/lineparty/) or something like it for your theater that you can join for this info?

Whatever happens, I hope you have fun! :D

You're right - they're going to start ROTK at 10, but with no previews, so I should be walking out of there just after 1, as I don't plan to stay for the whole of the credits.

Originally they'd said they were starting ROTK at 9, which would've brought be out of there around midnight; they're starting it at 10, though, but without previews, so 1 is expected.

The breaks they're giving us aren't as long, perhaps because we're seeing it in a mall with a Johnny Rockets & a sushi place within 10 feet of the theater's door?

No, they're showing it at ten pm. What the manager just told me is that they can't *end* it before midnight, which is why they moved it from 9 to 10pm. O well.

Hello, random person! Have you popped by before?

Anyhow, ours was originally supposed to start ROTK at 9, but they've moved it to 10 and said there will be no previews, so at least that's something. I'm now not sure both DH and I will be able to go, as keeping the babysitter over until 2am seems Really Unfair. Maybe we'll flip a coin?

Our movie theatre isn't near anything, but they do let you bring in your own food. My friends and I are bringing a feast -- all based on things they eat in the books. We're even baking shortbread that'll look like Lembas bread. Haha, the comedy . . . =)

I babysit a lot, and I've never minded being kept late because once the kids are asleep, I'm getting paid for sitting on the couch watching TV. Your sitter might feel the same way, especially if you warn her before hand.

Elves passing to the WestAbsolutely! I'd sent you a note ages ago about paying you back, but the response must have gone sideways somewhere. *wry grin*

You have all my contact info, right? Should I call you, do this in e-mail, what? I'm at work until 20:00, I can even stop by if you want.

No trailers! Oh I feel sorry for the person who has to stay up and add the trailers on to the film after it's done. Won't be much fun.

I don't think I've commented in your journal before. I've occasionally found myself here though. And I did ask about the chapter_owls not showing up in the friends list once over on FA. :) (You did respond so thanks for that. I just didn't want to spam the board with a one-worder "thanks." :) )

I like the idea of giving the babysitter lots of warning and maybe a bonus for staying over late? I don't know. I personally am not familiar with babysitter etiquette.

I hadn't heard anything about previews so this'll be interesting. I considered the possibility of no-previews for at least the first two films but that since ROTK was the new one, they'd put trailers on it. (Besides, I want to see the POA trailer before ROTK!)

...But that doesn't help you at all. I hope you get to go though. I've been gearing up for it for the past couple days, sloughing off the cold symptoms and adjusting my sleep schedule. :)

I'd say about 1:15 if they're starting it at 10. We've got a running time of 3 1/2 hours with trailers. Our trailers are usually about 15 minutes. Then again, I just sell tickets, so what the hell do I know? :-D

Am seriously envious. Trilogy is playing at our sister theatre across town. Not that I'd get a day off to see it. My only days off for the rest of this month will be the 14th and 27th. *sigh*
