Heidi, just do Blues Clues theme. They'll love it, and the mess is tiny.

I did that for Jamie's 1st, and it was great. And Blues Clues is cool until you're about 7.

Each child got one fish, which means that for families with two kids, there were two fish given. But we now have to get a bowl and a place to keep it and I just find fish so weird & icky anyway and it's just all UGH.

Back when I was in college, some friends got me a bunny rabbit for my 21st. It was cute, but it was a living thing and I really did NOT want the responsibility that came with it. Not. At. All.

I feel the same way about fish. Except that they're not even as cute as an ickle bunny.
