Jul. 30th, 2003 10:50 amPeople seem to be variously wibbling and incandescing about the possibility that the students in the next HP film will be seen not wearing uniform.
My response to such wibbling:
Yeah? So?
In the book PoA, Harry wears a t-shirt with a pocket in it - he puts his wand in the pocket - under his Quidditch robes.
The Weasleys get new sweaters every year - and we know from OotP that they're pure-bloods.
When they change into their robes on the train in Book 1, they just pull them on - nothing said about changing out of their Muggle clothing, so there's an implication that they at least *can* wear Muggle clothing underneath.
In PS/SS: The Movie, Draco - yes, pureblood snob Draco - is wearing a charcoal coloured turtleneck sweater and slacks in the scene when they're getting chewed out by Prof McG about being out after-hours. So it's even movie!canon for DRACO to wear things other than robes + uniform while at school.
The ironic thing about all this is, people have been complaining about the uniforms for YEARS.
Oh, and speaking of years-old comments about the films,
So please forgive me if I don't get involved in the heartbroken wibbling - it's a combination of "I don't really see a problem here..." and "Been there, done that."
