bildungsroman: Yes, a manual smith-corona from about 1927, and an electric from the late 60s, which was my grandfather's. The manual is gold-coloured (I think it's brass) and the electric is bright blue. Harry's learned how to type his name on them.

nmalfoy: I didn't! It was this collective thing that people had been talking about for *months* before we actually did it. A lot of people thought there was a need for it, and the downtime on ffn in the summer of 2001, combined with the decision that spring to not allow discussion of fanfic on HPfGU's main list and the whole attitude from some of the admins at ffn made it clear that the fandom needed its own place to post and discuss fics.

We're dried in, which means that all the windows and doors (bar one, which is being filled by wood right now) are done, and they're starting with the drywall this week, but we're still 5-6 weeks from completion and I haven't selected our wall paint colours yet.
