Hi. I want to join live journal but it says you need an activation code from someone who is already a user and I was wondering if you would be nice enough to tell me the code. I would really like to join it so please contact me at pantherbea@aol.com as soon as possible. Thank you.
Aren't we all plagiarists in the fan fiction realm? I think so.
I also wanted to chime in, and put in my hopes for your well being. I had meant to reply about the sciata. Feeling poorly is a big drag. So take care of yourself.
Aren't we all plagiarists in the fan fiction realm? I think so. You really don't want to get me started on this, do you? Short answer: no, not if we give a credit. Given that plagiarism is defined as passing off the ideas or words of another as one's own, if we *say* that our work is based on JKR's universe of ideas, or some such thing, then we're not plagiarizing.
And eventually my long form explanation of why it's not copyright infringement will make it online. For now, I'll just link to rivkat's livejournal, which contains a number of interesting cites about the interplay between fanfic and the copyright act, primarily fair use and derivative/transformative use issues.
You will come to the presentation that rivkat, praetorianguard, tabithajones and I are doing on this at Nimbus, won't you? ::big anime eyes::
Oh, on the sciatica issue... I'm learning what I can and can't do - I can't do squats at the gym or yoga class (oy, because I need to get my legs in shape, and it's so important to be able to do squats in labour), and I can't stand quickly from squishy chairs. The pain is intense and I cannot walk when it hits.
All that really helps is moving around - if it happens and I'm alone I just go onto the floor and try and get Bebe moved away from the nerve. It's been suggested that I go to a chiropractor, but it's also been suggested the Bebe is turning this week, and if I do so, an adjustment might stop him turning, and I'd rather have this pain than have a breech birth.

But still, oy.
