I'm fine now but...
Feb. 10th, 2003 04:30 amI spent Sunday on pretty-much-bed-rest for most of the day.
I had two contractions on Saturday night, after *really* overdoing it running around with Harry that day, and my doctor told me I had to stay, if not actually in bed, then definitely on one floor for the day. I had extreme lower back pain, but wasn't supposed to get a massage until my doctor's appointment, which was conveniently scheduled for Monday afternoon anyway.
So they'll throw me on the nonstress test machine this afternoon and make sure that everything is fine with my uterus.
I'll be starting my 7th month at the end of this week, which means that it is far, far, far too early for Jumper to consider showing up yet, but if this means I have to do less running around, I can deal with it.
Now, does anyone know how to update LJs (or read them) via email?

But I had a problem with the answers to the abortion question. It asked:
What do you believe as concerns Abortion?
And I don't believe any of those answers. I do think that third-trimester abortions should only be allowed to save the mother's life or health, including mental health, but I don't think that's really legislatable because if one *really* wants to have an abortion in the third trimester, then clearly one's mental health has some *issues*. Legislating a two day waiting period with counseling if one wants to have a third trimester abortion, where such counseling can be done via phone and to a local and/or 800 number, would probably mesh with what I feel is reasonable, because it's not unduly burdensome, but it would provide a stopgap for someone who's having some terrible hormone fluctuations...
So I chose any procedure any time, but really... if the baby is reasonably healthy and the mother won't be seriously affected physically or mentally by giving birth but doesn't want the child, then induce labor any time after 32 weeks and put the child up for adoption.
Of course, this would affect what, three? four? births a year? Not a huge number. But it's a reasonable approach, imho.
