As some of you know, back in November, we knocked down half our house, and are rebuilding it (somewhat bigger on the 2nd floor) from the ground up. So I am kind of obsessive about home decorating magazines, and today I found this. If you get them a digitally generated or scanned image, they can digitally print a full-wall covering or just a border featuring the image.

I can definitely see the positive implications of this for the fandom... Plus, you could use words to cover the walls, not just images.

Remember - always get permission before using someone's work other than your own :)

A friend of mine has a lovely old farm/estate house that has an equestrian theme (sort of an old English royalty thing). All up and down the three-story staircase, and through into the front entryway, they have a mural that was painted by a local artist, fields and barns and foxhunting and hounds - very rustic, very pretty (I think).

When she put the house on the market to sell, everyone who came in to look commented on how pretty it was, and how quickly they would be painting the entire thing over with boring white as soon as possible if they bought the house, because it was not the way THEY wanted a house to be.

It made her so sad, she took the house off the market.

...I know I'd never do that...

But then again, I'm a nice liberal yuppie who got all pissy when they canceled Firefly. So, maybe, I get a soulless-waiver? :)

Ahh but you aren't (I assume) a transplanting NYC urbanite interested in moving out to "the country" (did I mention the asking price of the house + 14 acres was 1.7 million dollars ...) these people have expensive furniture and modern gadgets that simply will not go with a plebian rustic country mural! hehehe.

Probably "yuppies" was not the right word - UBERyuppies might be more accurate.

How about...

A bit long, but oh so appropriate. I'm filled with images of the urbanites who redid the farmhouse in Beetlejuice...
