So the client says, "You idiot! I asked for java* and you give me cocoa.* To which the server responds, "How do you like them Apples!"*

*Cocoa is a programming language for Apple Computer's new OS X operating system. Java is a cross-platform programming language that can be run on a server. (Patrick Sheehan, Silver Spring)

This is from today's Washington Post, which had a challenge a few weeks back for readers to come up with a joke that's only funny to those (a) in the know, or (b) who have heard the explanation

The sad thing is that I thought of the programming language before I thought of coffee.

*NERD*

If I hear 'Java' I always think of the language. My brain just does not link it with coffee as anything but an after thought.

Actually, it's from Sunday's Post. Style Invitational runs on Sundays. My favorite was the winning "Who's on first" "Me?" dialogue, and "What's new/nu?"

I have an iBook too! I'm trying to learn Cocoa, but I haven't got very far.

I find it very sad that when I read this I immediately got the joke. For most of the others I had to read the explanation.
