Friday Five
Dec. 27th, 2002 02:40 pm1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year?
Getting pregnant isn't reall an accomplishment, is it? In the larger scheme of things, being Harry's mom is my biggest accomplishment. In the fandom, probably just doing my part in keeping FA running - we've grown from about 1500 people to over 15,000 in the past year.
How? HOW THE HECK did this happen? And what do we *do* with all the people who use the site for various purposes?
: boggles
Also (and see #2 for more) not winning the card was a phenomenal accomplishment for the entire fandom. We managed to donate $23,000 to Book Aid - and that, plus the donation coming from the winner of the card, is going to be tremendously supportive for that organization. I'm thrilled that we did something so momentous in so little time. It truly was an accomplishment. By all of you.
2. What was your biggest disappointment?
Hm. Weird one. Probably the elections - it's always disapointing when the Democrats don't take over both houses in Congress :) - on a smaller level, not winning the bid on the card was a disapointment on some levels, but as I said above, it was a true accomplishment too.
3. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions?
To gain 20 pounds! I really want to gain 20 pounds this year!
Then, I want to lose 40.
Also, to have a healthy baby.
4. Where will you be at midnight? Do you wish you could be somewhere else?
We'll be at our friends' house, kids in tow, with no champagne and some really good chocolate mousse. And I'd rather be in brighton, but I'm okay that I can't be. I'll be there by phone, at midnight their time. Oh, yes, I will.
5. Aside from (possibly) staying up late, do you have any other New Year's traditions?
To call friends at midnight, their time, if they're in a different time zone from me. And to start the year by eating or drinking something sweet and rich.
