From today's Salon Magazine
Jun. 12th, 2002 12:52 pmAn article in today's Salon Magazine discusses the new venture by Penguin Putnam, where you can pay about 120$US for an online writing course, and which includes your chance to submit a 7500 word excerpt which will, according to Salon, be read and critiqued by an outside editor who has "many years of experience in publishing," according to Penguin Putnam. They quote someone from Simon & Schuster as saying that he finds "U.S.P.S. is the best way to submit your work to an editor, and last I heard a stamp was 34 cents." And I'm not posting this to necessarily encourage any of you to sign up for this - especially because FictionAlley has some plans for interesting writer-focused things this summer, and hopefully next year as well. I just thought it sounded like an interesting concept, even if it's not necessarily a useful one to the writer.
