I finally got to scream for a Beatle.

I shouldn't phrase it that way, I know - I mean, he's been a former-Beatle about twice as long as he was one - but it's all I could think during Hello, Goodbye last night, when I finally got to se Paul McCartney live in concert.

The show was beyond unbelievable. Living in Miami, we have a knack for getting the last show of a tour here - the last or the first. Back in December, I went to U2's last concert in the states - I think it was actually the full out end of the Elevation tour - and I cried with everyone else in the mass grieving that accompanied Walk On and the devestating list of the names of the murder victim/heroes on the planes and the heroes among the FDNY and NYPD. Last night, he unfurled a banner signed by thousands of New Yorkers in praise of freedom. I think a week ago I would've felt otherwise about the lines to the song, but the reasons why I feel that perhaps we haven't all been in this "together" are for another time.

This post is for wondering and wonderfuling.

The songs - I mean, the songs! Forty years of wonderful songs! And he really rocked - wonderful young band, and even Sir Paul jumped around with more energy than I can even really comprehend. Nearly every song I really wanted to hear was played - from Blackbird to Yesterday to Here, There and Everywhere - the 80s were practically skipped, but well, that's ok too.

Aaron and I so rarely say that we both have a *great* time going to concerts together - our musical tastes are just different enough that only at Billy Joel concerts have we both been able to say we both had a *great* time. But last night, we did. And I'll never forget that at the terribly pathetic age of 31, I finally got to scream for a Beatle.
