Okay, fandom question here
Apr. 12th, 2002 01:22 pmSomeone emailed me today and asked why HP_Paradise doesn't allow off topic posts, saying "are you against poeple doing anything that isn't HP related?"
In part, this person missed the point - we don't allow things which aren't HP related if they also aren't related to the fics - and obviously, many of the HP fanfic Yahoogroups are like this, although I know of some that allow canon discussions.
What do you think? Should every Yahoogroup allow on- and off-topic things? Where is the line drawn? Or are we giving too much concern to people who have to pay for each minute of access or each email, and too little to those who want to have a community in one place, on one list, with nothing ancillary - no need to check elsewhere, etc.?
I guess the question is: what do you want to see on a fanfic Yahoogroup?
