Today is the head of my department's first day in the office since before the horror in NY - he's been in Israel ever since, with a Federation group. I always worry when he travels there - but this time, there was absolutely no need. He says that the west bank activities of last week were pre-organized and nobody thought to cancel them. Possible, very possible.
I took Harrison to the Miami Seaquarium yesterday with my cousin Illyssa and her son Max, who is 15 months old and a cashew (slightly bigger than a peanut). We saw flipper, which was wonderful, and the Sea Lion show in the Golden Dome, which was horrible. They clearly wrote it a while ago, but they MUST change it. The "plotline" was that the evil industrialist wanted to destroy the Nature Habitat and build a Toxic Waste Plant. That was the ok part.
The bad part was the use of many "tubes" of TNT. Yes, the sea lions are trained to move the tubes with mouths and noses, but they could replace them with something else.
The audience was frozen with horror that they would DO this show. The Under 5s don't really understand the correlation - and I guess since there was no TNT, there may not actually be one, but nobody wants to see a plotline involving an island blowing up, even if the actors are mostly sea lions.
