When I was in 7th grade, in 1982, I got my first Apple commuter, an Apple IIe. The next summer, I worked in a computer store on 41st street in Miami Beach, and that computer got me through high school and into college. Then, I got a Mac Plus, and when that was stolen, a Mac Classic. I had various macs through the 90s - laptops, a desktop, a Newton - and in 2004, I got my first iPod. The iPad, which I got the day it came out, is my perfect computer - I haven't used a laptop since I got it, and I'm typing on it now.

And it's all thanks to Steve. The days watching Pixar films with my kids, and playing Angry birds at doctor's offices. The way my music - decades of collected songs - comes with me everywhere, around the world, all the time. The ease of connection and communication - and the elegance of it. For that, everything is because of Steve Jobs.

Now he's gone and tomorrow I will go to my friendly local Apple store with white flowers and a red Macintosh apple - even though, to me, the perfect Apple will always be rainbow-colored.

It's hard to fathom just how big his reach was, but Steve really did change how we use technology.

I agree with the iPad, that really was one of his best creations. Post-PC, years ahead of the competition.

I knew he wasn't doing well health-wise, but it was still a hell of a shock to see on the newsfeed today. I'm a Mac girl too, and he really did bring about a whole lot of change in the landscape of the computer industry and how people use technology. There won't be another like him.

A perfect memorial to him.
