To Kill a Mockingbird

It's the 50th anniversary of its release this summer, and I didn't realise it until I saw it in the Times this morning.

Is anyone interested in doing a meet-up-style discussion of TKaM at Infinitus, or do I have to make my husband do it?

Coming tomorrow, or maybe Thursday, Infinitus polls!

Have you read Malcolm Gladwell's New Yorker Essay from last summer about Atticus Finch and the limits of Southern liberalism?

Might make an interesting addendum to your re-watch:

I just read the article a few weeks ago. (I'm just a bit behind on my New Yorkers.) So when I saw the post, it immediately sprang to mind. Fascinating stuff. It takes a lot of balls to try and "debunk" the near Sainthood of Atticus Finch in public imagination, but I think Malcolm does a really good job.

I put TKaM on my must-read summer list. I'm up for a discussion.

I love both the book and the film!
Wish I'd be going to Infinitus. :)
