This needed a separate post

How many of you know that back in the mid-80s, there was a number one hit in the UK called "Doctorin' the Tardis" to the tune of Gary Glitter's Rock & Roll Part One?

Well, it seems to be on this 1500 Videos site, and you can find it here (if you go through the site itself, it's in the T's under Timelord).

So watch it, in honour of the last ep of S2, or S1 of 10, or S-twentysomething, or whatever you want to call tonight's episode. And remember the 80s!

Original glory? Hee, when it was, I was watching The Tomorrow People. Ah, what a good budget could've done for that.

I've heard the song played at all three baseball games I've attended (two Atlanta Braves, one Indianapolis Indians). Each time it has put a huge smile on my face, largely because it seems so out-of-place, though very welcome.

I hope that the KLF (for the authors were they, wearing silly hats) continue to make a ton of money out of it

I have it on some Hits Compilation Thingy, along with Star Trekkin'.
And some Wham.

Oh oh oh! Is that the one that goes "Star Trekkin' across the universe/Boldly going forward 'cause we cannot find reverse"?

I love that song!

Oh, yeah! That was a favorite club staple for a long time.

Oh, yeah. We have that CD single... the Timelords were also the KLF (as in "KLF are gonna rock you!" -- 3 a.m. eternal, and all that...)

Okay, that rules on so many levels! I hope Kristen and Carrie see this!

Thanks for that site! I watched Depeche Mode. They're so little!!

I think that's amusing purely because the 'dalek' so obviously has a person inside as I'm so sure I saw a hand!

Hello from my friendsfriends

It makes a good Halloween costume, I guess.

And hallooooo, friend-of-a-friend!

I knew it and I have the single cd too. It's by The Timelords before they changed their name to KLF.

Yes, I'm old enough to recall that piece of shit...

oh, thank you! That is just so cool!!!!
I had really loved that song back and, for some reason, it's been on my head for the past week :)
(nothing like going all 'doctor whoooooo' in the middle of the street....)

thank you!

And get great views of Wilsthire, including Avebury circle, at the same time. Who's have thught a KLF video could be so educational? ;)

That's Wiltshire? Where Malfoys are? So ickle five year old Draco is hovering on his broom just out of camera range, boggling at the weird Muggles?

[identity profile] ias.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, that's Wilstshire. The needle on the hill is just outside Westbury, as is the White Horse (not on Google map's high definition unfortunately). You can also see the Avebury stone circle with Avebury village in its centre (it's an overhead shot from a helicopter). Not entirely sure which os the disused airfields it is 'though, but it could well be the one at Keevil
