Merry Christmas to All Who Celebrate It

For those who don't, what movie(s) are you seeing this weekend? We may be doing Tin Tin tonight, and my dad wants to take the boys to see Warhorse. Which I want to see as well because, well, Hiddleston (and Cummerbatch) but I may not get to. Back to the Muppets for me, which is ftw too.

If you aren't Christmassing and have some free time, Ascendio Formal Programming submissions are due in February, so winter break/the holidays are a perfect time to think about what you want to
present on - or even give the programming chairs (Anastasia of No LJ and [livejournal.com profile] femme_quixotic a fantastic gift by submitting a proposal.

Off to finish the ginger cookies and latkes! Interesting food combination; goes well with Chinese food.

we saw 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' last night. Really liked it, even compared with the Swedish version which we watched the night before. Put the 2 together and you'd have the perfect movie.

But it is definitely not for kids. Not even for teenagers.

I've heard 'Tin Tin' is marvelous.

Since I forgot to plan on food for today (don't even ask) I wish there was a Chinese place open around here. Stupid smallish town.

I'm still trying to figure out how to afford to to get Ascendio. And how to actually get there. Stupid smallish town with bad mechanics who wrecked my car.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!!

I heard that War Horse isn't as great as people wanted it to be. I would like to see The Descendants or the new Tom Hanks movie, the name of which escapes me right now. And, new Doctor Who tomorrow night!

I'm actually off to see Shame tomorrow. Not perhaps the most upbeat thing in the world, but I read a great review about it in the Wilamette Week here in Portland and apparently there is equal opportunity nudity. Works for me! Though I just spent a lovely evening with a couple of local friends who also recommended "Arthur Christmas," which I will probably try to see over the New Year's weekend.

Saw Sherlock Holmes last night. Liked it, but have some contrarian opinions, mostly having to do my feelings about "spoon-fed slash" vs subtet.
