Over the weekend, I was wibbling to longtimegone about how sappy I felt the vid I was doing set to the Love, Actually version of All I Want for Christmas Is You was turning out to be (and wishing for a Kylie version of Famous Blue Raincoat, and basically I've decided to save vidding that song until after next week's Doctor Who Xmas special). And she said:

longtimegone: all the villians out for Harry as "All I want for Christmas is you"? :))

And I said, "Bingo."

So thank you so so so much, longtimegone, for inspiring me to get as cracky and festive and holiday-ish as I could possibly be(and with added bonus David Tennant in your honour). And thanks so much to whoever shared the MCR version of the song - please let me know who it was so I can thank you personally!

Not only is the vid amazing, but using the MCR version was inspired. When the centaurs showed up on the line about reindeer I laughed. The whole thing reminded me of Draco and the Malfoys' All I Want For Christmas song.

I've heard of that D&tM song but haven't actually listened to it - it popped up on youtube today when I posted mine as "related" so I think I'll check it out this afternoon.

that is a totally HIGHlarious idea for a video, and well executed too! The only thing I would change would be, to make the contrast more aparent, I would have used a more traditional version of the song. Seriously though, very good stuff.

Thank you so much!! And yes, I am considering re-editing it to the Love Actually version, but I just liked the Voldemort-roar in the cemetary in tandem with this version, which is why in the end I went for this recording of the song.

That is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part of this vid. I can see the merit in a reedit to the Mariah Carey version except for the loss of that one part.

I really liked the color transitions near the beginning and great call on juxtaposing the basilisk of movie 2 with Volemort's manifestation of a serpent in movie 5. I totally didn't catch that myself.
