Housekeeping...
I am probably two days behind on LJ and as I am leaving for Canada in about 15 hours, I don't expect to ever catch up. I am reading comments, though, so if there's something I need to see or if you need to get in touch with me, comment here on LJ and I will read it.

fiction_alley's SpellCast podcast is looking for more staffers as we move to a once-a-week schedule. You can read more about how to apply here.
While I am in Alaska, FA is going to celebrate our fifth anniversary with a new front page, and some new tweaks to the site which we're going to roll out over the next month. One of the new additions is a favicon, which you should be able to see on the front page of the site.
One of the things SpellCast is doing to celebrate is, they're asking people to read one of the first 500 or so fics posted on FA and call in a review; we'll include a bunch in the special fifth episode of SpellCast, and you can also post your review here Here's our Skype numbers - in Canada and the United States the number is 303 800 4342 and in the United Kingdom you can reach us at 0161 408 3427.
I'm planning to get to Lumos on Friday morning - I'll be driving in from LA with friends and we're leaving before dawn. I'll be presenting on Friday at 1:30, where I'm moderating a panel on character changes in HBP in Marquis 6 & 7, then I'll be at the Creativity Booth in the Exhibition Room until I go to Marquis 8 for my second presentation on fandom and its use of various media with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
ran_huo at 4:00, and then I'm presenting on legal issues with HPEF's tax lawyer elfundeb at 9:00 AM in Marquis 2 & 3. If you're going to be there and want to make sure I can find you, let me know your schedule in a reply to this post, please?
And then, there's the JKR reading in NYC - I'll be there the morning of August 2, and no we still haven't chosen a place to get together before the reading - we should know by July 25, though. I was thrilled to email the two winners of the FA contest to win a ticket to the event, but I was surprised that out of the terrific number of entries we had, only one out of every ten entrants got all the answers to the quiz right. I guess that means it really *was* a game of skill!
I have to dash and finish packing and ipod updating and bottle-organizing and dvd-player-charging and gah, I have 14 hours until we have to walk out of the house. And my sidekick is close to 100% full, again, which means that if the kids nap on the plane tomorrow I may actually get to clear it out a bit; I can't go away with it this full. And I never got to do a proper review of the Doomsday ep of Dr Who (WIBBLE! I wept a lot!) or read everyone's POTCII reviews, or laugh about the insanity of the anchor who thought Vinnie Chase in James Cameron's Aquaman was for real or any of the other stuff that's been happening in the last week.
ETA: Er, fic recs? I'd love some fic recs to take to the seas with me.
