(no subject)

I am...

1. Sick
2. Tired
3. Far behind in email to my old netbox account as it would require sitting down at the desktop and because of 1 and 2, I am disinclined.
4. Saddened about Jonathan Brandis
5. Gladdened about Massacheusetts
6. Unable to get in the car and drive to blockbuster and get the ttt dvd; maybe later
7. Not going to be able to have dinner, [livejournal.com profile] tabithajones, again because of 1 and 2.
8. Not really enthused enough to do a whole big explanation of what [livejournal.com profile] folk and [livejournal.com profile] gwendolyngrace have posted about recently, so instead I'll just say, "yeah, bay-bee" and leave it at that. Well, that and a few lines of Sondheim, who's useful in various occasions:
There are those who love regretting
There are those who like extremes
There are those who thrive on chaos and despair...

An off to try and rest so I feel good enough to go to california and have fun next week.

PS- who posted the other day about kate jackson?

What's up w/ Jonathan Brandis?

[identity profile] heidi8.livejournal.com 2003-11-19 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
It seems he passed away over the weekend. [livejournal.com profile] bonibaru has an article in her lj.

NO!!!!!!!!!!

How awful!

I saw him, once, at BWI.... he was getting off a plane from Florida, going to visit his grandma. It was so...normal.

And, huzzah, he was cute as all get out.

Damn.

Yes, and apprently it was suicide. *sobs*

Does anyone have an actual link to a story? I'm at Cleveland.com and a search under his last name hasn't found a thing.

I checked at CNN.com and both ETOnline and E!Online. Zilch there too. The last two are usually pretty quick to pick up on a story like this. And I just did searches on news stories in both Google and Yahoo. Absolutely nothing.

I'd hate to think this is just a prank. But lest we forget the sicko who declared to the world that Daniel Radcliffe had died in a car accident (was it just last year?)....

Firstly, you better be well enough for tea here in SoCal! :)

Secondly, I can't find any news about Jonathan Brandis.
Where is everyone getting this from??? *concerned*

[identity profile] wcspegasus.livejournal.com 2003-11-19 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
See various links in my most recent LJ post or above comments. It started with an article in a Cleveland newspaper but now there are e-mails and phone calls to the LA coroner's office that confirm it and various statement from supposed friends and family.

There's a slight possibility of a hoax or mix-up, but it is growing more unlikely by the hour. Particuarly since the only statement anyone can get from his agent is "No Comment." With similar hoaxes in the past (the Dan Radcliff one from last year for example) the agent and family have generally moved pretty quickly to put them down and reassure the fans, we're seeing none of that here. Which isn't a very good sign.

*frowns*

but but but... I liked Jonathan Brandis. I can't tell you how many times I watched Ladybugs. And I know people say it was cheesy, but I liked Seaquest. ;) It'll be very sad if it's true. It's odd than no one else has picked up on the story though. It would be a huge news story. "Child actor, dead at 27." :*(

I checked his profile at imdb.com and there isn't even a piccie of him there. *frowns*

And I know people say it was cheesy, but I liked Seaquest. ;)

As cheesy as it was I still love it and always have. Even though I've sort of faded out of that fandom I still consider it one of my fandoms and once in awhile do venture back to see what new fics have popped up while I was gone.

I'm going to be putting a memorial to him on my site with anything his fans would like to make in his memory. So, if you have any thoughts or anything send 'em my way.

Feel better! We'll catch lunch/dinner soon enough :D

Curiouser and curiouser.

[identity profile] shelaghc.livejournal.com 2003-11-19 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
I just got off the phone with Jonathan Brandis' agency in LA (I have my ways).

I spoke with the assistant to his actual agent.

I hadn't even gotten the words out of my mouth when the woman said "I can't comment."

Told her "I'm just calling about a newspaper article that appeared in a Cleveland paper over the weekend."

"I'm sorry. I can't comment."

"Not even to say if he's dead or alive?"

"I'm sorry. I can't comment."

Understandably, I was at a bit of a loss for what to say next, so she helped me along by hanging up.

I'm getting the uneasy feeling that the article is correct simply because if he *was* alive most likely there wouldn't have been a complete blackout of any sort of comment at all.

One more avenue, however. I'll update presently.

This freaks me out. Not only because I used to have a crush on this guy ages ago (although that kind of adds to it), but because there is no official word on it - and considering the nature of this news, "I can't comment" is freaky beyond words.

Who is Jonathan Brandis?

[identity profile] shelaghc.livejournal.com 2003-11-19 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Jonathan Brandis at the IMDB.

It looks like the most recent project he worked on was a pilot that the network decided to completely retool including scrapping the cast.

Still hoping it could be a hoax or mistake, but I'm not overly hopeful. While I never liked the second Neverending Story movie, I always liked him.

Heidi, that was [livejournal.com profile] hebrideanblack, but over on OTC.

Hope you're feeling better soon, and Harry too!

I LOVE JONATHAN BRANDIS!!!!

I am SO sad about this! And even more upset that they won't give out any details or even make it headline news (as it damn well should be!). I've been a big fan of his ever since i was a kid...this is horrible :(
