I just spoke to the box office for the Aventura AMC 24 theater. The box office said that tickets for the LOTR trilogy go on sale at midnight, which is about 11.5 hours from now, not the theater, but online at movietickets.com. However, I just called movietickets.com's customer service number (888-440-8457) and they said that the tickets would be going on sale online at noon (Central time) on Thursday.

Personally, I'm getting up at midnight, judt to check...

Noon was the time I was given when I called last week too.

I suspect the movie theatre may have been mistaken, but I'm still checking back a little later today.

Fandango and theonering.net both say that it is up the individual theatres to set the time that tickets go on sale. But dude, I'd check too.

Yeah, it's lovely and the screen is to die for, but our butts will be ever so very numb from those evil seats....

Everywhere else says noon too. I called my AMC and they said it's noon for sure. I'm a bit tempted to stay up too just in case. Good luck with getting tickets. :)

Here in Chicago they're expecting to sell out within the first ten minutes or so based upon the number of inquiry calls they've received.

Personally? I'm putting my phones on forward and have notified the people I work with that I will be unavailable between 11:50AM and 12:15PM.

Damn.

I suppose I'd be better off buying the ticket now and figuring out what will happen if I can't go after I've got the ticket.

I am vaguely disturbed that I am going to work tonight... at an AMC 30... and still have no clue what's really going on with the trilogy marathon.

On the other hand, I've also decided I no longer want to be working at AMC by the time the holidays roll around. Four years and 8 months of my life will be quite a large enough sacrifice, thank you very much...

(Oh, I will step up and say I can mail you some AMC passes if you would like a free movie or two... ;)
