*grins* That is certainly more lovable and cool than a lot of other US States I can think of. *hugs Florida and it's fabulous outlet malls* Things I remember first and foremost about my short stay in FL in 1996 are:

a) Wow, angsty thunder storms.
b) Seagrass(?) Mall, particularly it's discount bookstore, and the fight Ihad with my mother when I still wouldn't leave the store after 1 1/2 hours of browsing.
c) A gigantic tree that was transported on a extra-long truck - it must have been hundreds of years old.
d) How pretty a thunderstorm looks while driving along the highway that connects Naples and Miami(roughly). It was the most awesome display of a natural storm my eyes ever beheld.
e) The nice big Barnes and Nobles in Naples.
f) Very nice weather.

There're worse states.

Have you ever read . . .

Will Shetterly's book Dogland, a fantasy novel about growing up in Florida? If not, you should check it out.

Cheers,
Peg

Yep, me too. We're some of the few, the proud, the natives. ;)
